We are organizing the "2nd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENGINEERING FOR WASTE VALORISATION" at the University of Patras, Greece from June 3rd to 5th, 2008.

As in the case of the successful 1st WasteEng hosted at the Ecole des Mines d'Albi, France on May 2005, the Conference will bring together representatives from industry, academia, governments and other sectors who are interested in promoting sustainable development solutions to environmental problems.

We expect to develop at the conference a constructive dialogue between different groups of attendees active in the following areas:
technological advances and innovation in research on valorisation of waste in different industrial sectors including applications
impact assessment, health and safety issues of waste management
economic and legislative solutions and incentives.

These areas all present continuing challenges that will benefit from discussions, comparisons and exchange of experiences and knowledge.

There is increasing awareness about better solutions for treating wastes and producing new materials for valorisation. Biological, biochemical, chemical, electrochemical, physicochemical and thermal treatments may convert waste materials containing heavy metals and/or organic pollutants into new added-value products and/or energy, with little or no deleterious impact on the environment. Such regenerated materials help save natural resources and prevent waste dispersion.

Information on the latest international developments in this field will provide insight into the best alternatives to waste landfilling. The conference will present recent accomplishments and authoritative reviews of technical and legislative advances in waste treatment. We have formed an expert international scientific steering committee and are now in the process of preparing the technical sessions.

We are inviting you to become a sponsor of this conference and we would be honoured to receive financial support from your organization.

In the enclosed documents, various levels of sponsorship are offered, with a description of corresponding benefits.

Please let us know of your interest in this project and feel free to contact us for further information and suggestions.
