For today's dinner we will surely choose a place to enhance a cheerful tone for all of us to have
a memorable evening. We will visit the Achaia Clauss wineries and vineyards on the hills outside
Patras and we will have dinner in the beautiful surroundings of the old winery.
You shall be picked up from your hotels at 19:30, to be taken to Achaia Clauss Winery, arriving
at 20:00. You are encouraged to explore the winery, admiring the ancient barrels used for ageing
and maturing the wine.

Achaia Clauss Winery
Founded by a Bavarian called Gustav Clauss in 1854, the wines produced here had a very good reputation,
which some say may have saved the winery from the destructive forces of the Nazi occupation. The key to
Clauss' success was a local cultivar, Mavrodafni, a transplant from the Ionian islands. Using the Mavrodafni,
Clauss reestablished the wine grape as a viable regional crop. With a northern European sweet wine aesthetic,
an Iberian approach to vinification and a grape by nature low-producing, Clauss created a fortified wine of
deep red color that was transformed slowly through controlled oxidation into a heavenly caramel nectar. The
remarkable suitability of each element in his design well justifies his legendary posture.
Today Achaia Clauss is a machine with a 20,000 unit-per-hour bottling capability, annual production of
twenty-five million bottles and exports to nearly forty countries. Its portfolio consists of a staggering
seventy labels, running the gamut from bulk-quality products to emerging boutique styles to rare Mavrodafni
that is released from the winery's "Imperial Cellar" for only the most compelling clients and events.
At 21:00, beautifully-cooked, traditional Greek dishes will be offered in a rich buffet. You may re-service
with the dishes that take your fancy.
Entertainment: Weather permitting, an open-air stage will be set up for us and the
Municipality of Patras dance group, in original costumes, will introduce us to the traditional spirit
of Greek folk dances, accompanied by a live music performance.

Municipal Dance Group
The dancing department of Cultural Artistic Center (C.A.C ), was founded in 1976, closing this year
31 years. Today, the Dancing Department has above 150 adults and more from 600 children in its children's
departments. It has participated in a lot of festivals in Greece and in the abroad (France, Italy, Germany,
Portugal, Japan etc) with big success and a lot of discriminations.
We intend to offer a wonderful night with friends, lots of delicious home-made Greek food, the opportunity
to make new friends, and, of course, free-flowing red and white wine. We will enjoy live Greek music, some
of us will try to dance like Zorba the Greek, but we will also entertain with chart hits and dance music!
Our tip for the evening is "you'd better be hungry because the variety of dishes is vast."
After dancing, eating and drinking to your hearts' content, buses will leave the winery at 23:30, to take you
back to your hotels at about 24:00 hours.
